Electric Hybrid System (EHS)

The Electric Hybrid System (EHS) is a highly integrated powertrain that incorporates high-speed dual motors, dual controllers and advanced oil-cooling technology to increase motor power density and efficiency.

High-Speed Dual Motors:

EHS utilises impressive high-speed dual motors, with a maximum speed of up to 15,000 rpm. With two separate functions, the P1 motor generates the power and the P3 motor drives the wheels producing excellent performance in varying vehicle conditions.

Hairpin Motor

EHS uses innovative hairpin technology which significantly improves heat dissipation performance. Peak efficiency can be as much as 97%, remaining stable above 90% for most of the time.

Oil Cooling Technology

A large capacity Blade Battery

BYD Super DM Technology uses a tailor-made version of the highly acclaimed Blade Battery. These bespoke Blade Batteries for the hybrid platform have power capacities ranging from 18.3 kWh, achieving a pure-electric range from 70km. It offers multiple benefits such as the following.

The Blade Battery has safely passed the stringent Nail Penetration Test without emitting fire or smoke.

Optimised strength

Arranged in an array in one pack, each cell serves as a structural beam to help withstand force. The aluminium honeycomb-like structure, with high-strength panels on the upper and lower sides of the pack, enhances vertical rigidity.

Compared with traditional battery packs, space utilisation is increased by 50% with the Blade Battery. This produces enhanced energy density for a longer range.

Pure EV Mode

Comfort city driving Enjoy quiet journeys with excellent ride comfort, and fast responsive acceleration that is synonymous with pure-electric driving. Regenerative braking harvests energy and increases the range. In Pure EV Mode, the wheels are 100% driven by the electric motor for an all-electric drive experience, with the Xiaoyun engine on standby.

HEV Series Mode

Drive further When the battery power falls below the user-set SOC value, the engine will automatically engage for range extension. While the Xiaoyun engine acts as a generator charging the battery, the wheels are driven by the electric motor, making HEV mode the ideal companion for extending range.

HEV Parallel Mode

The full power mode

The wheels are driven by both the electric motor and the Xiaoyun engine.

This mode produces fast responsive acceleration in situations such as overtaking on highways, providing high power performance.

Moreover, for high-speed cruising at low SOC, wheels are 100% driven by the Xiaoyun engine, reducing fuel consumption combined with economical and efficient power output.
